Top Penn State donors and leaders, along with students and faculty who have benefited from philanthropic support, gathered in the Bryce Jordan Center on the evening of Friday, April 22, to celebrate the success achieved by the University’s current fundraising campaign, “A Greater Penn State for 21st Century Excellence.”

In addition to a day full of activities engaging with scholars, President Barron and his spouse Molly kindly welcomed everyone to their home for dinner. 

In addition to competing in a fun trivia game, Scholars shared all about their University’s Clark Scholars Program and Graduating Scholars had the chance to meet as they prepare for their post-grad lives.

On #internationalwomensday2022, we are proud to share that 49% of our #ClarkScholar engineering undergraduate students identify as women, compared to 23% of all engineering undergraduates nationally.

Students worked together to build a vending machine prototype out of cardboard boxes.

Held at Invent Penn State’s Innovation Hub, the event challenged teams of students from the Penn State Multicultural Engineering Program, the Penn State Women in Engineering Program and the A. James Clark Scholars to build a vending machine prototype out of cardboard boxes. 

100,000-square-foot building will support innovations in construction teaching and research — and provide needed dining and classrooms.

For the eighth consecutive year, the Penn State Society of Women Engineers received the Outstanding Collegiate Section Gold Mission Award at the annual SWE national conference (WE21), the largest conference for women in engineering and technology. 

This past summer, I had the opportunity to work as a Technical Program Manager Intern at SiriusXM and Pandora. I spent the beginning of my 10-week program learning about the agile software development process, stakeholders in the software development lifecycle, and using Jira, a project management software.
