Stevens Breaks 200 Million in Endowments

Stevens Institute of Technology has reached a record-breaking $207M endowment in Fiscal Year 2018 (FY18), according to a new report. Endowment gifts are “typically comprised of cash or securities, or sometimes real estate or assets,” which are given to a university by individuals, charitable organizations, and sometimes other institutions.

2019 EngineerGirl Ambassadors

During the 2019-2020 academic year, each Ambassador will implement a project she designed and developed to encourage younger girls – particularly those with little access to engineering role models – to think about engineering careers and give them practical experience in engineering design. You can read quick summaries of each ambassador’s project on the 2019 Ambassador Profiles page. Each ambassador will work with a local sponsors and receive guidance and support from EngineerGirl staff.

EngineerGirl Announces 2019 Class of Student Ambassadors

The National Academy of Engineering today announced the new class of the EngineerGirl Ambassadors program. The 16 selected ambassadors will participate in a yearlong program designed to build leadership skills in female high school students by helping them promote engineering to younger students in their community.

Virginia Tech College of Engineering honored for diversity progress

The Virginia Tech College of Engineering is among the first in the country to earn a bronze award and only one of 29 institutions that received exemplar status from the American Society for Engineering Education in its inaugural year of their Diversity Recognition Program.

The program was created to recognize engineering and engineering technology colleges that make significant, measurable progress in increasing diversity, inclusion, and degree attainment outcomes of their programs, according to the ASEE website.
