The E.A. Fernandez IDEA Factory at the University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering has a gravity-defying form: The seven-story building’s solid upper floors emerge above the lighter, mostly glass base. Designed by EYP, the project, which took three years to construct, recently had its official grand opening.

Sylvester James Gates, Jr. Returns to UMD Faculty as Clark Leadership Chair in Science
He will hold the Clark Leadership Chair in Science and a joint appointment in the Department of Physics and the School of Public Policy. He will also hold the titles of Distinguished University Professor and Regents Professor.

Georgia Institute of Technology Clark Scholars hosted Courtney Clark Pastrick, Joe Del Guercio, Elle Wassertzug, and Sarah Bayne Elbert for a campus visit
The team also got a tour of the Hive Makerspace, a student-run Interdisciplinary Design Commons, and spoke to Scholars about their experiences on campus and their vision for the future of the Program.
